Oh dear

Started by: roylew (4041)

Not much to be said about Wigan’s defeat to Leeds…our leadership again was totally inept…something isn’t right…when French scored he had an easy overlap to King but selfishly went alone and okay just made it…if I was the captain I’d have had a little word in his ear…I honestly think Farrell isn’t the man to take this role on but then again I don’t know who could. It just shows the lack of depth in the side.Harry Smith is being coached with this Trent Barrett type of pass which O’Loughlin started to do and I’m afraid it isn’t working.
The style of of attacking at the moment is woeful far too flat…again that’s a coaching problem…any thoughts from concerned supporters..are we a 2 man team with one of them missing?

Pathetic is a very apt word. I would fire the coaching staff off. We need an enforcer in the pack. Time to give Farrell his P45. I am aware they are missing the injured players.

Some of the supporters on the fan's web sites are now making comments about the coaching level of Peet.

As for Farrell, he has not been the same player since he was made Captain!

And there has been to much reliance on Field and French which apart from now only being 50%, the coaches of other clubs have found ways of countering this season.

p.s. Former player Willie Peters seems to be doing a good job with the Robins while former coach Adrian Lam is not doing too bad with the squad he has got at the Leopards.

We need...... 1. a hooker with a running game 2. an enforcer in the pack . 3 a creative half back....should have been out of site by halftime with that amount of field position / possesion...2nd half absolute cack

When they travel to Leeds next week take the Challenge cup with them for that is one trophy they will not be getting their hands this season after last night's shambolic second half , i normally do not name players' but in this instance I do believe it's time for FARREL to retire he is past it ,my view ,sorry for he has been a very good servant but, old father time has caught him , G.B.

Well..... I for one will be backing them to do Leeds next week in the cup.... Let's see what you doubters have to say after that game.

Roy do you have inside knowledge that Harry is being coached to throw "Trent Barret" type passes, and that Farrel Didn't "have a word with French"?
Harry has got to find consistency...good for two games ,then poor for two..

BTW didn't realise that Farrell was still on until the handbags at the end

No I don’t Joe regards to Harry Smith but you can sense it…the coaching seems to be one directional…not for me personally can’t see what Leulai brings to it as he had an awful kicking game .Is he our defensive coach…that Cust guy wouldn’t make it in the third team back home…looking at our coaching staff on Friday nobody was talking to each other and that has got to change…hey they could prove us wrong…something ain’t right though

The three more recent performances seemed to have coincided not only with injuries and suspensions, but also with the rumour that Radlinski is in Australia for some reason and other rumours that certain players are not having the options on their contracts taken up by the club at the end of the season!

Broady.

The Hull game was disappointing because we battered them in the second half but were devoid of scoring ideas, the second half display against Leeds was absolutely shocking, and totally baffling. But the games against Wire and Saints showed what they are really capable of, let's hope Peet gets them sorted out and back to that standard.

Shorrocks is now being found out at stand off and Cust as his replacement is a chocolate fireguard…there’s no continuity to the centres and like I said before far too flat lending to interceptions

Shorrocks will by his own admission will tell you that he is not a Stand Off, but with Cust injured and Hampshire still recovering from an injury he sustained not playing for Wigan, what alternative had Peet got apart from playing a young inexperienced player from the Reserves or Academy.

As for Cust, perhaps a better position for him might be at hooker because from what has been seen of him playing in that position, he is no worse than Powell and O'Neil!

If Wigan have problems, then the blame rests with those who make the signings which include a Chairman/Owner who at the beginning of the season said that this years squad was the best put together for a while!

OC….totally agree with what you said about the ownership but our coaching methods are being found out now….we haven’t a clue when we have the ball in the opposition 20 metre area …

A problem which has been there for a while since Maguire left the club.

Some supporters calling it "running around like headless chickens"

Let's be brutally honest when was the last time Wigan bought /brought 2/3 Bloody good decent player's with exception of French & Field , the club has gone from Bad to Worse in the transfer market , and i have to agree with O/C and unfortunately the buck stops with the OWNER AND HIS TEAM WHO RECOMMEND PLAYERS ! It's no use coming up with lame excuse's there are a few on that team who are just not up to scratch !
To capitulate inside 40 mins to a team less one player is totally unacceptable ,there is nowt much else to add! G.B.

I agree and possibly the large loss of income during the pandemic coupled with the financial cost of the ongoing upgrading of the Robin Park Area as HQ of the club may have something to do with the present level of players, especially some apart from Field and French from down under.

St Helens also had problems on the playing side when they were involved in finding the finance for their new stadium and the Wakefield team also seems to have gone worse this season with the present re-development of their ground.
